Kalama Post Office to Reopen on Monday, March 28

The Kalama Post Office will welcome postal customers back for the first time since December by hosting a Customer Appreciation Day event from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. when it reopens on Monday, March 28.

The Kalama Post Office, 454 1st Ave., has been closed since December 2015 while work was completed to repair flood-related damage to the facility. The facility will open its doors to customers at 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Officer-in-charge JoAnna Durrett said she looks forward to once again serving Kalama customers at their local Post Office. For Monday’s Customer Appreciation Event, light refreshments will be served.

“We certainly appreciate our customers’ patience while the Post Office was closed for repairs,” Durrett said. “We’re very excited to welcome everyone in Kalama back to celebrate our reopening.”

The Kalama Post Office’s regular weekday retail hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. The P.O. Box lobby is accessible 24 hours a day.

The Postal Service receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products and services to fund its operations.
