NYC Postal Officials Make Way for 9/11 World Trade Center Ceremony

NEW YORK, NY — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will seal the Postal Service’s collection boxes for the 9/11 World Trade Center Ceremony on Sunday, Sept. 11, in New York City.  

The familiar blue collection boxes will be sealed, and in some cases removed, after the final scheduled collection of mail on Saturday, Sept. 10. All impacted collection boxes will be reopened on Monday morning, Sept. 12. 

Postal officials advise local customers to make plans to mail outgoing items on Saturday or Monday morning accordingly.

All exterior collection boxes within the World Trade Center Complex

Both sides Cedar Street from Greenwich Street to Trinity Place

Both sides Liberty Street from South End Avenue to Broadway

Both sides Vesey Street from North End Avenue to Church Street

Both sides Barclay Street from West Street to Broadway

Both sides West Street from Liberty Street to Barclay Street

Both sides Albany Street from Greenwich Street to South End Avenue
